You can look out over the city and see what you want to see. Maybe you see the bright lights, and it gives you hope. Maybe you see the tall buildings casting their powerful shadows, and it makes you feel small. But high up, it’s not that you can’t see the forest for the trees—it’s that you can’t see the trees for the forest.

Best way to see what’s really going on? Turn away from the bright lights, big city, and sit down at this card table right here and roll out a map. Take this box-cutter, and just start hacking it up. Slice-slice. The docks go to the bloodsuckers, the banks, too. The projects, we don’t know who has them because we can’t get close. The park falls to the beasts, and the highways to the jackals. Slice-slice. You cut the place to ribbons, then soak it in blood, because that’s how they got what they got—by soaking the city in blood, theirs and everybody else’s.

And this right here? This tiny piece, this shitty little nowhere piece that’s half the size of a postage stamp? That’s your cut. That’s your part of this god-forsaken city. You content with that? You satisfied leaving the fatty cuts and the sweet meats for the monsters to fight over? Maybe you are. But I’m not. So gear up, because it’s liberation time.

— LCpl Erwin Emerson (ret.), leader of the Crusaders of Night cell

This is easily one of the two or three best supplements for Hunter. It gives a good outline, backed by real world and entirely fictional examples of how to build a city for Hunter, The rapport system is excellent and illustrated to good advantage wit [...]

An excellent Hunter the Vigil sourcebook that builds on concepts laid out in Damnation City for Vampire the Requiem. I bought this as a pdf when it first launched, as well as the new print on demand version. In fact I recommend the print on demand vers [...]

This was my first order from the print-on-demand section, so this is as much a review of that service as it is of the book itself. Damnation City is one of the best and most overlooked supplements for Vampire: The Requiem. Its strongest part was [...]

This is one tough gritty book; I wasn't so sure about Hunters in the old World of Darkness setting but I find that I like the system this go around. For anyone that ever played a Mage: Technocracy game under the old setting it recaptures (for me) that [...]

This is a barbed little sourcebook for Hunter : the Vigil designed as Hunter's answer to the Vampire supplement Damnation City, which instructs Storytellers how to flesh out an urban landscape so that it becomes like another character in your stories. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
