Midgard Tales (Pathfinder RPG)

More than Adventures, Make Them Legends!

Many tales are rather ordinary adventures: a quick tomb robbing, chasing down some bandits, foiling some mundane political plot. Not these.

The Midgard Tales hardcover collects 13 adventures that reach out to remake classic themes, such as a demon-haunted mountain, a tribe of orcs and their hideous goddess, and the lost library of House Stross. These are adventures to be remembered, adventures to shake the foundations of complacency and "just another dungeon."

Throughout the history of the tabletop roleplaying game hobby, some adventures have forever defined a setting in the minds of gamers. For the Midgard Campaign Setting, that product is Midgard Tales from Kobold Press.

Midgard Tales is a massive adventure anthology of 13 Pathfinder Roleplaying Game adventures for characters level 1 through 11. Players will:

  • Face the terrors of a demon-haunted mountain
  • Attend a fey wedding with deadly consequences
  • Climb a frozen Elder God in the Wasted West
  • Confront a remarkable tribe and their hideous goddess
  • Explore the strange lost library of House Stross
  • and much more!

Featuring the talents of designers Richard Pett, Crystal Frasier, and Ben McFarland, Midgard Tales will give gaming groups something to talk about for years to come!

PRAISE FOR THE MIDGARD CAMPAIGN SETTING

Nominated for Best Setting 2013

Recommended in the WIRED GeekDad Holiday Gift Guide:

"A wonderfully rich and beautiful sourcebook chronicling the world of Midgard. Think of how many game masters have fancied their campaign worlds awesome enough to publish in the book. So few actually have the writing and publishing chops to accomplish this, and to do so with such style is pretty much unheard of."

Any ONE of these adventures has the potential to make legends about your characters... but a whole book-full? Starting with one for 1st-level characters and progressing level by level (with, for some reason, a whole bunch for 3rd-level characters) to [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
