Doll is a storytelling game for two. One person plays a child whose pet has just died. The other person plays the child's doll, puppet, or other toy. The doll knows everything that goes on in the house, but it does not always tell the truth. During the game the child will try to find out the truth about her parents from her unreliable doll.

I have bought this PDF... only to realize there is an advanced version of this game, with (supposedly) more info, for the same price (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/121855/Advanced-Doll?src=also_purchased ).
I feel a little bit cheated.
And I have to agree with some people, who already wrote this here - I consider this a little bit overpriced. The rules are really short and I feel that for a really good gameplay experience I would need a few more prompts/story ideas/suggestions on how to play this game.

359 Words (373 if you count "Doll by Josh Jordan, Ginger Goat 2013" at the bottom of each page), $4.00, 2 pages = $2.00 a page or .89 cents a word...

Cool concept, and looks like it would be satisfying, if I could just get past the issue of paying 2 bucks a page... Need to read the description better next time...

That certainly seems excessive. :/

I disagree with that general statement.
You're paying for the experience of playing the game, not reading it.
If you paid $10 for a movie ticket to a kind of shitty movie that was 3 hours long and then paid $10 for a very well made hour and a half comedy you wouldn't disparage the good movie because it was short; you would rate them based on their quality.
If it looks like it would be a "cool concept... and satisfying" then that seems like it would be worth it to me.

Reminds me of a quote by Bill Gates: "Measuring programming progress by lines of code is like measuring aircraft building progress by weight."

The value of an RPG is in the design, not the word count. A clean, elegant solution is worth more than a wordy one that accomplishes the same task. This game would be worth less, not more, if they'd taken ten times as many words to explain it.

But the game is kinda garbage in this iteration. It's literally just 2 pages, large type, and tells you to get a doll, pretend to be the doll, and talk to a "kid" player. It's incredibly simple and cheesy.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
