I know that look of disgust in your eyes.
You can't hide it from me.

I've seen all its expressions in many faces like your own.
I am intimately familiar with rejection.
Yes, these scars and stitched wounds are horrifying to behold.
Were I truly alive, they'd be enough to kill me.

But I am not alive.
Not yet.

Not in the way you know it.
A fire burns within me and animates this dead flesh,
these legs that have wandered the far regions of the Earth,
these hands that have killed men.

And I walk with a purpose.
You will not stand in my way.
These hands have killed men.

A Storytelling Game of Stolen Lives

Prometheans are soulless corpses animated by a mysterious, alchemical force, the Divine Fire stolen from the gods. Their hideousness forces humans, animals, and even nature itself to reject them on an instinctual level. They wander the dark places of the world, seeking what their creators denied them: humanity.

A New Game set in the World of Darkness

A whole new type of character for players, inspired by the classic Frankenstein monster and the worldwide myths of Golems

Explores aspects of the World of Darkness unknown to the other game lines

Strange new antagonists and mysteries to unravel for players of any World of Darkness game

Note: The Black & White print edition of this book is not full-bleed. Because of printing requirements there is a small white border around the edge of the pages.

Interesting concepts but difficult to play. The game focuses far too much on pinnochio syndrome (I want to be a real boy!) for my taste. [...]

I purchased both the original book used from a third party seller and this print on demand from drive-thru rpg. The content of the book itself (both versions) is great and many reviewers have said it better than myself so I'll leave you to read those [...]

I almost threw up when I went to eat breakfast (based on the cover art), before I started to read this stuff. This is such a wicked story line and it is very well done. I can't believe that I did not read these books years ago. They are very well hidden. [...]

An RPG Resource Review: While other books in the New World of Darkness series have revisited previous subjects (vampires, werewolves and mages) this game line takes a new turn - creatures which are not alive but created. Think Frankenstein's monster... [...]

This is unlike any World of Darkness game you have ever played. Well, perhaps that isn't fair. In many ways it retains the greatness of past WoD games. It has its fair share of gritty, gothic horror (And how can there not be horror when you step into [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
