Obscene Serpent Religion

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Inspired by the sound of black metal, this is a 32-page mini-supplement for Lamentations of the Flame Princess. These random tables will generate a cult of serpent worshipers, including details like holy quests, sacred sites, and special abilities granted to worshipers. Utterly and completely NSFW, by the by.

I guess it's like a test, "Am I famous enough that people will just buy my stuff sight-unseen?".

Do let us know how that works out Rafe :-)

Well, I think I might be more lazy and famous. I was on my way to the airport, and I was too exhausted to write a coherent description for O.S.R., but I really wanted this thing out there, and I figured if I released it, someone would write a mini-summary and I could just copy and paste it, which is dreadfully lazy on my part, but I did it anyhow. Now, I am in my hotel room, copying and pasting what someone else wrote, so that this thing can have a description.

A paragraph or two description, giving customers a teaser of what a customer may find in this product would be helpful, much like a novel has a synopsis on back without revealing any of the goodies. The title alone grabbed my attention, but a brief cryptic sentence will not suffice to convince me to buy it

The title's initials are no coincidence: that, the title, and knowledge of the author's other OSR works gave me a fair idea of what to expect. But here is a less cryptic summary:

This is a write-up of a serpent cult, suitable for old-school D&D-alikes. It details the cult's aims, goddess, holy quests, and the like. But there are six options at every turn: six different goddesses, six different sacred sites, six different divine blessings, so you don't get just one cult, you get many potential cults. Provided you follow the instructions ("Roll the dice. See what happens.") you will have a secretive, violent, creepy, Obscene Serpent Religion in your fantasy game.

Gore warning: The art is appropriately lurid -- if you're familiar with the grindhouse edition of Lamentations of the Flame Princess you'll know what to expect.

Thanks Ken, that was actually helpful.

Since you own the product, how many pages is it in total?

Kind regards

Kai

so...what is that product all about`? The "Description" is frankly not telling anything and there is no preview at the Moment. I like to have an idea about what is offered before I think about spending money (no matter how low the Price).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
