Hi, I have a question, and a small suggestion. One of the feats makes a reference to "preparing" cantrips, but there aren't any spellcasters that prepare them. What does this mean? Also, since the Arcane Trickster rogue archetype gets their spells from the wizard list, it might be helpful to make a few of the subterfuge-based spells like Blur Hands wizard spells. Thanks!
Edit: one more question! Chaos says it dazes creatures, but that's a previous edition condition that 5e doesn't have. I'm also curious why the DEX save isn't based off your own spell save DC like most spells.

As far as preparing cantrips goes, I would assume that a wizard could have cantrips written in his book, and then he could trade them out just like any other spell.

Regarding the Arcane Trickster, I simply made the Wizard list with only the Wizard in mind, but there is nothing to stop a GM from allowing any arcane cantrips he likes. I highly encourage people to take these and make them their own.

Chaos was originally made for 3.5e, so that's where that comes from. I would recommend using the stunned condition. I decided to use a base Dex save because it's not really being controlled by the caster. It's just a burst of chaotic energy, so it made more sense to have a flat save. I'll probably change dazed to stunned in the master file at some point, but I'll hold off uploading a new edition just for that.

I appreciate the feedback, and I hope you enjoy the book. Thanks.

Oh, cantrips are very different from other spells in 5e. Regardless of how a particular caster's spellcasting mechanics are designed, cantrips are always the same: you gain a couple at the start, and then they more or less stay with you the whole game. Wizards don't put them in their spellbooks, because they aren't really even "spells." Cantrips are more akin to special abilities and techniques only someone with magic skill can perform rather than complex magical structures you set up and let loose each day.

I really like the concept of Chaos, but as it stands right now it's INCREDIBLY strong. Even with a low save DC for avoiding the damage, you're still getting to automatically make every creature within a ten yard radius lose their turn every round, and doing so doesn't even use up your action! Compare to Ray of Frost, which although it directs all its energy at just one target, still only slows it down a little. Chaos can be used at any time throughout the round to instantly stop every...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
