Reviews

"Land of Og is fun just to read. Anyone who has been around the rpg block will be tickled by the humor...More so than humorous to read, LoO is also playable and humorous to play too...I have spent $10 on less enjoyable items to read and to play. It's easy to learn, quick to play and a great diversion for one shot or campaign play to loosen up a gaming group."
"Papyrus", RPG.net

"I always consider it a good sign when a game makes me laugh out loud when reading it for the first time and this book did that more than once. Give this game a try." Rating: A-
Robert Monteith, Games Unplugged #2

"These limitations (the words) take what would be a very basic game and make it challenging, original, and fun.
David Sklar, Gaming Report

"[Wingnut] has created a RPG that is not only amazingly fun but also very economic...Not only are the rules easy to understand but the amusing cartoon art adds to the flavor of the game...All in all this is a very fun game...I highly recommend it."
Katie Camden, Gentlemen and Players

"The same warped-genius who brought us Battle Cattle...The game is hilarious and just about the easiest RPG to learn out there. Rating: You go big thing." Brian's Small Press Picks, Knights of the Dinner Table #45

"...rush out right now and get your own copy of Land of Og. You and those wacky fellows at Wingnut Games will be glad you did."
RolePlayNews.com

"Amusing to read and a riot to play."
RPGAction.com

"...urge me you recommend you buy Land of Og."
Valkyrie (UK), Fall 2000

"?a riotously funny cross between an RPG and a game of charades."
Alarums & Excursions, #301

"To be honest, I had no idea how popular Land of Og was. The demo we ran was probably the most demanded game at the con. Not only was the game full, but there was a circle of folks around the table watching and (apparent from all the laughter) having a great time." Dean Dryer, ConGames Gaming Director

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
