Your Guide to Health and Prosperity in a
World of Orcs, Trolls, and Dragons

Healers & Healing is dedicated to the healing arts and those who practice them.

And, that doesn't mean just clerics. Any character with an interest in providing support to his partymates or preserving his own health will benefit from this book.

This book is 50 pages of dense source material for your campaign, written and edited by Geoff Kushnick. Plus, it includes masterful illustrations from oldschool fantasy artists Sean Marleau and Mike Nagle.

It serves as both a sourcebook for fleshing out your healing-capable characters?with a useful assortment of new feats, prestige classes, and roleplaying tools?and as an Essential Gametable Reference?. This means that, by using this book at the gametable, you will greatly enhance gameplay because everything you need is at your fingertips.

With the basics of every ailment from the game system and how to heal them, this book is a must-have for players and GMs alike.

You'll find the following in Healers & Healing:

  • Healing Basics: All the basics of healing collated from the basic rules and from independently published content related to healing including hp and how to restore them, disease, lycanthropy, poison, paralysis, and ability damage?amongst many others. Complete listing for the Heal skill -- including new skill uses that you won't find in the core rules. Easy-reference appendix with all healing spells and magic items.

  • Adventuring Healers: New prestige class and feats related to adventuring healers, as well as an easy reference guide for brewing healing potions.

  • Healing Vendors: New prestige class and feats related to people who sell healing services and products, as well an easy reference guide for building stat blocks for healing establishments and setting the prices for services.

  • Battlefield Healers: New prestige class and feats related to wartime healers, as well as a variant rule for expanding the purview of lay on hands.

  • Adventure Hooks: Original seeds for creating short adventures?or, epic campaigns!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
