Legends tell of the Great Wyrm that emerges from its lair to devour an entire village or just one helpless maiden. While many such tales can be discounted as the ravings of madmen or acts of human cruelty or nature's fury, others are clearly based on actual sightings and encounters.

This article describes the history, biology, physical abilities, and esoteric talents of Hârnic fire and ice dragons. Details are also given for five species of lesser dragons. Full HârnMaster stats are given for the seven stages of a dragon's physical development.

There are two indigenous breeds of horse on the island of Hârn. Both have a common ancestry which existed on the island during the Age of Sindarin, and perhaps earlier. Four major breeds exist on the continent of Lythia, each originating in the four great horse trading nations of Quarphor, Ketarh, Reksyna, and Hacherdad.

Most horses found on the island of Hârn are a mix of the four major Lythian breeds. There are, howeve...

Ilme
Regular price: $3.99
Bundle price: $3.00

Ilme is a Bestiary article.

The Ilme are a strange race of mere-dragons, among the most unique and mysterious of the intelligent races on Hârn. The Ilme have an ancient culture with a complex language and a deep mythology. They bear some likeness to their great dragon cousins, and many a reported tale of dragonkind was almost certainly really an Ilme encounter, but there are significant differences. Although they are reptilian, the Ilme have no wings and probably could not fly even if they had; they commonly attain a height of 12 feet and a weight of two tons. The two sexes live apart except when mating. Despite their undisputed strength, male Ilme are somewhat cowardly and are frequently bullied and robbed by local Gargun (orc) bands. They prefer to hunt from ambush or ea...

Ivashu
Regular price: $5.60
Bundle price: $3.50

Bestiary Article

Ilvir creates the Ivashu at Araka-Kalai, making use of a limited number of souls over and over again. Some Ivashu are fairly common, because they have proved most adaptable to survival, or because they are the easiest to create. However, Ilvir also enjoys experimental lifeforms and can produce any conceivable beast in some quantity. Many varieties are unique, created to perform a specific task, or just to amuse the deity.

GM Note: The existence of Ilvir and the Ivashu provides GMs with a rationale for introducing any type of creature into their campaign. As long as these creatures are Ivashu, ...

Taller than a man by more than half, a Tawedog's rangy frame is covered in stringy, ruddy brown hair tinged blue-green with moss and often tangled with plant debris. Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
