Secrets of the Black Walnut

Spend enough time in the Black Walnut Tavern and you will eventually hear a story about the haunted basement.  There are dozens of tales, each one stranger and more curious than the previous.  Each tale has as a common thread some explanation of the mysterious sounds that emanate from the basement beneath the dining hall.  The description of the sounds ranges from a loud hammering and clanging to blood curdling wails and screams.  However, all the tales agree that the sounds only occur when the big thunderstorms roll along the coast.  The fact that the access to the basement is via a bolted and locked trapdoor that is itself inside a small locked room adds further credence to the belief that something sinister is going on beneath the Black Walnut!

The basement features five large subterranean halls, each one with its own dark secrets.  Whether you already own a copy of the Black Walnut Tavern or simply want a basement level to attach to your own encounter location, this map will add a new layer of intrigue to your ideas!

This map set is designed with a 1" grid suitable for use with most 25mm - 28mm miniatures and RPG game systems and is set up to print on 11" x 17" sheet size.  Included is a detailed map of a basement floor level.  For your convenience, print files have also been set up for letter size paper that can be joined together to make a full map.  Additionally, an identical map has been included with the labels and text turned off to make it easy for you to customize your own unique encounter location.
