"A Hero's Journey" is a short delve for a group of of level 0 characters, compatible with the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition game system.

Characters must be created using the guidelines published in the article "A Hero's First Steps" by Philippe-Antoine Menard  in Dragon issue #403, available on the Wizards of the Coast website (DDI subscription required).

     The Wayside Inn is the first stop on the road North away from the village of Solis. It is a modest two story inn that stands at a fork in the road; to the Northeast is the small village of Haven and the dark and dreary Ashen Swamp, and to the Northwest is the long abandoned road leading to a desolate region known only as "The Darkened Vale".

     At the edge of of the Solis patrols, The Wayside Inn is a reasonably priced establishment with one of the most well known taverns in the region. The rooms are almost always booked, the lobby is always filled to capacity with merchants and adventurers alike, and the dwarven ale never stops flowing.

     The crypt lay undisturbed for centuries. Not only was the approach wrought with peril, but the entrance was sealed off from the rest of the world by a heavy stone slab. Its mysteries lay hidden in the dark...

     Only recently has a bold group of adventurers come to the crypt, pushing aside the massive stone to reveal the entrance below. Who knows what wonders - and what dangers - lie in the depths of the crypt?

     The Crypt Entrance is a focal point in A Hero's Journey, a mini-adventure for level 0 characters by Darklight Interactive.

The "Hall of Spiders" is a sample encounter you are free to use anywhere you like. It contains three custom monsters and one special hazard (a massive spiderweb).

"The Dragon's Master" is a short delve (5 encounters) for a group of of 5th level characters, compatible with the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition game system.

     Skeebo led a hard life. Small even by kobold standards, he was constantly mocked by the others in his clan and tormented by their leader: a black dragon named Pyraxis. Not strong enough to be useful as a soldier and not smart enough to be a mage, he was forced to do all the menial tasks that the rest of the Ashen Kobolds didn't feel like doing. And if he resisted or refused to do what he was told, he risked getting eaten by Pyraxis.

"The Heart of Fire" is a large scale campaign for a group of of 10th level characters, compatible with the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition game system.

     Over a century ago, the nation of Cerra was terrorized by Vulkanon, a fearsome dragon that rose out from an active volcano on a small neighboring island.

     To deal with the threat, the council of Cerra hired a group of adventures led by Raylen Darathar—a powerful elemental mage—to seek out of the dragon and destroy it. Raylen emerged mortally wounded, but alive. The volcano was silent, and the attacks stopped. Cerra believed itself to be safe once again.
