No future. Get used to the taste of ashes.

The Countdown to the apocalypse has begun. As our darkened globe spins through the eternal night, the lasting legacy of the human race is nothing but a scream - drowned out by the roar of the destiny devouring us all. This is your last chance to show the cosmos what it means to be human: the will to fight.

Delta Green: Countdown blows the doors off the world of Delta Green, reaching wider and digging deeper to map the terrain of the twisted pulp apocalypse we call the dawning of the 21st century. Brace yourself for the final world order: The Insects of Shaggai, alien parasites subverting the leadership of a nation; Pisces, the U.K.'s attempt to harness the unknown; The Army of the Third Eye, terrorists fighting a bloody battle against alien invaders; GRU SV-8, a band of desperate operatives fighting darkness in the ruins of Russia; The Skoptsi, occult fanatics with an eight-hundred-year legacy; The Outlook Group, where Majestic-12 tests its elite; Phenomen-X, a syndicated TV news show that pokes its camera in all the wrong places; Tiger Transit, a former CIA airline now in the clutches of a Tcho-Tcho drug cartel; The D Stacks a the American Museum of Natural History, where Dr. Jensen Wu classifies the unclassifiable; The Keepers of the Faith, traditionalist ghouls fighting the lean and hungry Heretic ghouls beneath the streets of Manhattan; and the Hastur Mythos, a twisted skein of surreal destruction weaving its way through humanity. Plus:

  • new skills
  • new spells
  • new Mythos tomes
  • rules for psychics
  • a microbiologist's dossiers on paranormal lifeforms
  • profiles of international intelligence and law-enforcement agencies
  • dozens of useful NPCs
  • two scenarios
  • a short campaign
  • and more.

Note: Delta Green has been out-of-print for some time and this is a scanned image product.

Ignoring the cost, the quality of the scan, Countdown is the best supplement of any game ever produced. Nothing has ever come close.

Guys, if you're gonna charge 20 bucks for a PDF, maybe at least index the thing? It's a GREAT book, but getting around it when using it is a pain without the index.

Why no softcover option? This is nearly $50 for a book.

20 bucks for a scanned product seems a little bit overprized to me...

How's the quality of the physical books? They're scanned images, and I was wondering if i should get this, or the original print. Thanks!

Is this a stand-alone product or do you need another source book to run it? Is it compatible with CoC 7th edition rules?

It's a scanned PDF with OCR - fairly decent quality but not very well optimized, weighing in at 277MB (!) - but all right, it's a large book to begin with. I would like to see an updated version in OEF.

Would you notice a big difference in quality between these and the original print?

If you have a slow computer or run it on an older tablet then performance would suffer. The size of the pdf is way too big because it is not OEF. It is simply poorly optimized for a black and white scan.

Is this version a scanned PDF of the original book? Is it OCR?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
