“Antares Ship Class is a Warship? Don’t make me laugh; they haven’t seen any military use since the war between the Terran Allegiance and the fringe worlds. Now what kind of options do you want on this glorified transport? “—Used Spaceship Salesman

Antares Modular Spaceship is a collection of nine 10 “x 16“ sections. The sections included are a bridge section at the front of the ship, seven modular middle sections (cargo, crew, fuel storage, cryo storage, lab, containment/brig, and an empty section for GM modification as needed), and an engine section at the rear of the ship.

Antares Modular Spaceship is intended for use in near or far-future Science Fiction games.

Adventure hook for use with this map:

Spaceship Repossession:  After the Colonial Civil War between the Terran Allegiance and the Colonial fringe worlds, the Terran Allegiance decommissioned all the Antares Class Warships. The Antares was a slow and powerful space battleship with modular center sections that could be changed based upon the mission needed. With the Terran Allegiance needing to cover more and more ground, space carriers with faster space fighters became more important for similar capital investment.

The decommissioned warships were stripped of all weapons and brought up for auction as merchant transports to pay for more carriers. Many made their way into the hands of scavengers and smugglers. These traders collectively fell in love with these ships as their armor could absorb a ton of punishment and last in a fight even with light weaponry lawfully allowed in the Terran Allegiance.

The player characters bought one of these ships from a used spaceship salesman with a low interest rate. When the interest rate skyrockets, the player characters have a choice to either pay up or dodge space repo men hell bent on recovering their ship for a finder’s fee.

Does anyone know if these plans suffer from the usual ludicrously-oversized furnishings? That is, in order to "look right," map features are usually drawn at 200% of scale, such that what *should* be a 6 foot long and 3 foot wide bunk is actually drawn as 12 feet long and 6 feet wide. This habit offends me mightily, to the extent that I usually print purchased maps at 50% of full size then use a Sharpie to turn each set of four now-half-inch squares into a single one-inch square. But I really don't want to have to do that.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
