This feels like an incomplete product or a rough first draft, despite there being good ideas behind each Contract. There are many grammatical errors, to the point where it is disruptive or difficult to read. On top of that, there are many mechanical errors as well in these Contracts, with inconsistent theming or poorly worded execution. For the price of these two Regalia compared to other Changeling products, this seems undercooked.

This book gives you a lot of bang for your buck. It offers a wealth of material for anyone interested in playing a Gangrel in V5, be it an old-school pagan mystic, a Viking, a Mariner, a Knight of Avalon, a corporate raider, a Sabbat warrior and more. It's packed with useful resources - lore sheets, predator types, Discipline powers, story hooks and tools for nomadic and wilderness stories, and an extensive bestiary of mundane animals, vampires and stranger creatures. There's also a very well-written narrative section considering the various aspects of the clan in the modern nights.

If you came to Masquerade through V5, you'll find a far broader range of inspiration for Gangrel characters than the core book gives you. If you're familiar with the previous editions, you'll find numerous old friends, but recast for the new edition, alongside some new creations. Either way, it's a first-rate resource at a generously low price.

I found out about this book, by chance, even though i thought i read all the New World of Darkness fiction, already (Three Shades of Night, A Hunter like Fire, Blood in - Blood Out etc.)

I went in this, totally excited, and thank god it did not only NOT disappoint, but amazed me, creeped me out, and shaken me to my core. Mr.Alan Doetsch, is a master of writing horror, and I really feel ashamed I didn't notice his work sooner.

Seriously, even if you are not a World of Darkness fan, but a fan of horror nonetheless, BUY AND READ THIS BOOK. I promise you, it will take you for the ride of your life. Or, un-life, depending who you ask.

The only kinda downer for a casual, non-WoD reader, would be the ending, which leaves a few questions, kinda unanswered, but for me, that was the beauty of it.

In the World of Darkness, there are no answers, only more questions. Open a door, and three more show up for you to peer into. This is horror and World of Darkness fiction, at its finest.

Very well put together. It has a plethora Of information that can be used in your games to bring the clan to a more in depth position within your stories. The artwork is superb and the book is laid out very well for ease of reading and referencing. It  feels like aan officially published clan book. Very happy with the product.

Fun, Varied, and Occasionallyly Flawed.

Diving into Koldunic Sorcery Remastered, you're immediately aware of how much work was put into focusing on the narrative of it being a highly personal and mystical powerset. Especially compared to the present fifth edition interpretation of Koldunic Sorcery: Focusing on the different personalities of different kinds of spirits and how it affects how one bonds with not only them, but the land they inhabit and how to work with them is incredibly interesting. Additionally, there are further rules on how some can force some of these spirits to their will, or allow mortals to interacts with these powers, making for an incredibly varied entry to the Darkfall Collection, and incredibly useful for Storytellers who don't have players interested in this discipline, but want some unexpected challenges to present the players with.

With the provided powers being so varied, useful, and unique, it really does feel like the only drawback to them is how exclusive they are in the lore (but then again, that's not an issue if you're already using non-official work by virtue of having this book) means that I can't feature these powers with each and every vampire, as they are just that fun to throw around and utilize for either their plain utility or efficacy, or by virtue of how dramatic disintegrating into the wind for travel or striking someone with a lightning bolt can be!

However, I can't ignore that this entry also has a number of "effectless" disciplines, either by virtue of having poor language to describe why you'd want to take what seems like a purely flavor-based power, or simply lacking mechanical information.

• Hungry Earth, Path of Earth: Pulls a victim into the Earth. Doesn't specify if supernaturals are affected the same way as mortals or if you're able to push someone more than six feet below the Earth. With no resistance roll, powerful vampires or werewolves are essentially helpless worm food.
• Theft of Mokosh, Path of Air: Makes an oxygen-free bubble around a target. While it puts out fires . . . there's no explanation as to how this affects the target, and no resistance roll to represent holding your breath.
• Pool of Lies, Path of Water: You make strange images appear in bodies of water around a target you cursed. These have absolutely no mechanical effect on the target whatsoever, despite other powers in this book having distracting/harassing powers that do have mechanical effects to impact willpower recovery or focus. Admittedly, The Insults of Krivda two levels later makes it far more useful, but that only serves to divide a player's choice between the other fun choices for the Path of Water in order to make one function better.
• The Weeping of Kruchina, Path of Water: Those affected uncontrollably sob. No mechanical effect is given for how this may affect sight or a steady hand or at least stealth, meaning that unless someone is able to imagine a creative use its only effect is to break the masquerade when kindred cry bloody tears.
• Heat Wave, Path of Fire: Exhale incredibly hot air. While it is stated to dry out material, the "causes burns to blister on any target within range" description has no mechanical effect or damage detailed out.
• Fiery Demise, Path of Fire: You detonate when you die. Really cool and devastating, but with absolutely no effect while you're still alive: branding yourself 1560 times over the course of three decades only to be rewarded with the most powerful talent of all being a suicide bomb is a real let-down. At the very least I feel this power should have had some use such as a fiery backlash when put into torpor - a kind of death - to hopefully buy the user some time to find some utility while you're alive.

A much-needed Gangrel Clanbook packed with Quality and Quantity!

Greetings all. Before I delve into my review of Clanbook Gangrel, I wish to be forthcoming and disclose my potential biases. I had the pleasure and privilege of providing some fan art for a few of the loresheets in this book and inadvertently had some sneak peeks at the earlier work. That aside, I did not contribute to the book's actual content, so I will try my best to give an honest review.

Summary;

• Abundance of ideas perfect for both storytellers and players.
• Professional Formatting, Logical layout, Good use of white space and overall Good balance.
• Tons of Content, both Quality and Quantity.
• The writing is both Informative and Descriptive
• Easy navigation throughout, aided by additional art that fills dead space and enhances the visual appeal.

First of all, the positives: the formatting is excellent. It feels and reads like an official book, and I dare say it's on par or better!

Straight off the bat, you are greeted with a giant table of contents as far as Gangrel goes. It has a plethora of ideas, from Archetypes/Discipline powers to Loresheets/Bloodlines all the way to various tools to enrich your game, both for storytellers and players alike! This really has strived for Quality and Quantity.

I love the way the Authors have included Suggested convictions under each Archetype. Once again, there is plenty of variety to choose from. There is also a short and sweet Introduction to who the gangrel are in case anyone needs a refresher. I also like how they weave this whilst explaining various Powers/Compulsions/Advantages/Predator types, etc. It's very Descriptive and continuously paints a picture in the mind's eye of what a gangrel could be and how they function or react to the vast world of darkness.

I also like how the book is easily navigated the additional art also helps fill dead space, making it more pleasing to the eye.

On to my Personal favourite section of the book Loresheets! The introduction to loresheets is well-worded and entices you to delve in. It also encourages the storyteller and players to be creative. Nothing is set in stone, and anything can be adapted, provided the theming makes sense. Isn't that the beauty of TTRPGs? All this content is nourishment for your own stories and ideas! Now, as for the loresheets themselves, there are a whopping 20 if you include the 8 bloodlines, which is pretty impressive, in my honest opinion. What I like most about this fact is that there should theoretically be something for everyone. While you might not like some loresheets, there is undoubtedly something there for you. Variety is the spice of life, after all, and this indeed achieves that fine balance of Quantity and Quality once again.

My favourite bloodline is Clutch of the Wise Spider [pg 45].

• It beautifully intertwines storytelling with the game's mechanics, adding depth and immersion to the characters' backgrounds.
• The inclusion of cultural and mythological elements, such as the Wise Trickster Spider deity, adds richness to the character's lore and motivations.
• The optional Discipline spread and unique merits reflect the thematic elements of the Gangrel Bloodline, offering exciting gameplay mechanics that align with the character's nature.
• The character's connection to nature and wisdom is well-developed, providing ample roleplaying opportunities and potential story hooks.
• Overall, this sheet captures the Gangrel clan's essence while adding its unique flavour, making it an intriguing character concept to explore in the World of Darkness.
• I also just love the overall lore of the Akunanse.

Some Constructive feedback to the authors. Considering the vast amount of content, this may be a bit nit-picky, but I would’ve loved some more Unique havens and merits/flaws.

This is one of the best Dark Ages supplementsI have ever read. It helped me add a whole new depth to my game. The writing and the research was well done. Historically and Culturally this is a big hit. I am having this professionally printed and blind to put on my shelf. I am a big fan and look forward to getting the rest of this collection.

Like most of the 100 series of books put out by Azukial Games, this one is another solid contribution. The book provides short one paragraph rumors to use in Changeling the Lost games. These rumors could be used as story hooks with a little effort on a storytellers part.
