After buying the original version and enjoying the quick and sleek play style, I was eagerly looking forward to the second. I was disappointed. Instead of just expanding on the game as laid out, they tried to incorporate a new "multi-genre" generic system to tie in all their products together. Not that thats bad, but I was really just looking for stuff to use with the original quick play system.

LIKED: All the new items and ships were nice, and the map was spectacular.

DISLIKED: I wasn't looking to change "systems" again. I was happy with the way the original worked.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Disappointed
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. The system is merely an updated version of the original, adding compatibility with our other products - it is not that different and it is not multi-genre - that is left to the genreDiversion i Manual. The revisions were made as a response to customer feedback. If you would like your voice to be heard when it comes to future products in the series, please let us know - our forums ( http://www.pigames.net/forum/ ) are perfect for suggestions and other feedback.
Thanks. |

This I loved! If only it had come with the original rules. Oh well, cant have everything. The map was very handy.

LIKED: The map and extras were nice.

DISLIKED: It was geared toward HD][, not the first system.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Thank you for your feedback. This item is for HardNova ][ as stated. At no time, did we claim it to be for the first edition. Thanks again. |

I bought this in a fit of system compatability blindness. It is OK if you are looking to tie all PI Games together, but other than that, just buy the packs. It's the same thing.

LIKED: The translations of all their genre packs in the back were nice.

DISLIKED: I already had all this material in the Hard Nova ][. I could have saved my money to buy another game pack.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Disappointed
Wow! I loved this! I had both the playtest version and the original rules printed out a while back and had lost the original files to a hard drive crash. Seeing them here made my wallet sieze up. I had to have it! And im not disappointed. Just as great as I remember it.

LIKED: Everything! Style, Game mechanics, art, genre bits... the whole kaboodle!

DISLIKED: Nothing!

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Great little adventure to kick off the IG adventure line. It offers an excellent starting point to a campaign using Iron Gauntlets.
The entire product is 16 pages long with 2 pages for the title art and credits and 2.5 pages being taken up by the Disposable Heroes (paper figures) and map. This leaves 11.5 pages for the background and adventure.
Art and Layout: A+ the Disposable Heroes are a nice addition and help in the "let's pretend my kobold mini is one evil fish men" syndrome. The map makes good use of Gridsmith. Two-columns with boxed text make for an easy read.
Plot: It's a starting adventure and the author gives you plenty of ways to get adventurers involved and leaves plot points for later as well.

LIKED: Everything - nice little product to start people playing Iron Gauntlets. The room descriptions are laid out in a detailed fashion giving the Director (aka GM) what he needs to know.

DISLIKED: Nothing.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
This game ROCKS! Although billed as essentially a four-shot for short-term campaigns, this game could easily serve as the foundation for a ghost buster/X-Files game. It's next on my list to run.

LIKED: Straight forward take on horror gaming with elegant and easy rules. Good treatment of metaphysical (magic) skills in a modern setting.

DISLIKED: Could use more paranormal tech toys.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Simple game mechanics.

DISLIKED: Some parts of the page layout can be a bit heavy on the Ink Cartridge.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Outstanding product! A solid fantasy product that gives a little uummph to the standard fantasy genre.

LIKED: Fresh perspective, supports AE2, an innovative system.

DISLIKED: More non-standard fantasy races would have been the icing on the cake.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
A strong offering in a somewhat underutilized genre. Does a good job of conveying the grit/feel of pulp adventures.

Highly recommended to anybody interested in Space Opera style games. The mechanics are solid and the character and starship templates will get you going quickly. I'm looking forward to more Genre Diversion games from PIG.

An excellent generic set of rules for quick and easy campaigns ... in some ways better than PiG's Impresa Express system, simply because IE is awaiting the full version of the Impresa rules to be done, and gDi is already complete.
If you want a simple, quick, easy set of rules for rpging you could do far worse than to use gDi!

A good basic fantasy background based on the free Impresa Express (tm) generic rpg rules. Anyone who wants a simple, easy to play, and well rounded campaign world would do well to purchase Iron Gauntlets.

Pretty nifty. Nice layout. Of course, diceless itself has drawbacks... I like the general atmosphere and have looted some of it for some adventures.

Not bad, but not stellar, either. If you like rules-light systems and are willing to tinker with them, this may be good for you. Frankly, it's not my thing.

A usefull product for quick minis, but they are a bit cartoony. If that doesn't bother you, then this product is a definit pick. But if you want realism, you might find these figures lacking.
