My group loves this book! The core CoC rulebook is a bit sparse on available weapons, so we really appreciate the expansive roster and meticulous detail on how the guns all differ. This sourcebook doesn't skive on any details; you'll know every pertinent stat from handling, reloading, rarity, and even country of origin. I appreciate the author taking the time to find many 'unique' historical weapons, like the silenceable Nagant revolver or the Far Killer long-range shotgun, which open up very different combat specialties from what's possible within the base guns. Our Keeper has also enjoyed the section on cultish/magic weapons, and has built several memorable mini-bosses wielding enchanted/infused firearms.

The bonus PDF containing only stat tables is a wonderful inclusion for quickly perusing options, for either character creation or shopping downtime. The alternate ammo types also add a lot of versatility for creative players, considering most CoC characters only have the skillpoints to spec into a single weapon.

In summary, this book was great for enhancing backstories (players often needed to justify how they wound up with these rare guns), diversifying combat, and improving the overall CoC experience.

If you want an expanded weapons list plus some alternate rules for combat this is a great product. I found this works well with Pulp Cthulhu and it gives those students of history, which many who play this game are, a reward for their erudition and enthusiasm.

A well written and presented example of that rarest of things; a Call of Cthulhu supplement that you can give to players. HKV has been producing quality work for Call of Cthulhu and GURPS for years and this is no exception. I particularly liked the suggested weapons for antagonists and the sections on law.

While the sections of the Tommy Gun and other exotic weapons is useful, the author presented numerous examples of work-a-day guns and took care to present each one in context as well as highlighting useful information for a Keeper. Investigators will use this as a catalogue of shooting irons for the characters, Keepers will find the background information useful for using guns as clues and parts of the mystery.

Highly recommended. I spent $14.99 on this in PDF and I was so impressed, I'll be shelling out for the print edition as soon as it becomes available.

I am intersted in running a First World War scenario, and I decided to try this product in the hope that it would have statistics for the weapons of the First World War.

This supplement has detailed information on weapons and new firearms rules. The rules made some good points about Call of Cthulhu. How do you make an aimed shot in Call of Cthulhu? The rulebook doesn't talk about it, but this is important because so many players arm themselves with guns. This book suggests some rules that appear workable.

The weapon descriptions are very thorough. I have no complaints about the descriptions.

Overall, this product is very good. It didn't have every weapon I was looking for, but this is Volume 1, so I expect other volumes to come along and add more information.

This book is an instant classic and a necessity to anyone who wishes to add further reality and dimension to their Call of Cthulhu and/or BRP game. The level of detail and information around firearms is nothing short of essential. Bravo!

Newcomer press manned by old hands brings us a wonderful supplement on weapons of the Classic Cthulhu era - which means that it is excellent for any BRP game set in the 1920s/1930s. But, make no mistake this is not a mere Sears Roback catalogue of different firearms and explosives. There are all sorts of useful tidbits such as what penalties could be imposed for shooting in the dark or what might happen in a desert. All round, excellent supplement. Also included are bonus sheets allowing the Keeper to afix these to his/her screen without searching through. Completing the supplement is excellent index. Most amusing is the gun ads from different countries adding an extra degree of realism that Cthulhu supplements have been missing lately.

Keep up the excellent work Sixtystone Press and cannot wait to see future supplements.
