Cannibal Zombie Flesheaters
Publisher: Micro RPG
by Justin D. [Verified Purchaser]

Found this via Amazon of all places, and it’s a pretty slick li’l hack of DCCness.

CZF perfectly captures grimy Italian (and more) splatter flicks in both style (particularly via the “Gory Details” critical wound table) and substance. Author Noah Patterson definitely knows his zombology, and little shout-outs to works not detailed in the “Inspiration” section pepper the book--undead sharks and birds, y’all!

I counted only a handful of typos, and that’s a miracle in and of itself. The minimalistic art has more “quasi-hot girls” than I prefer (and only a whopping three pics), but that keeps with the genre.

Oh! CZF is absolutely perfect for con games, as it’s a rule book, setting guide, bestiary, and adventure all in one. Infinitely repeatable, too, what with all the tables.

It’s great stuff, and I hope to see more in the “GamExploitation” line. Bring on tributes to bikers, bigfoots, and / or the combo thereof!

A workmanlike issue of the WFTW series chock full o' marine content. Sure, it's got nine new critters, but they eschew "gonzo" for "scientifically accurate". Not my bag.

Great, great supplement that expands the (woefully uninspired) artifact rules in the Mutant Future core book. Adds all kinds of mayhem to your looting-n-scavenging-n-plundering!

Over the course of reading the 5 pages, I came up with over a dozen inspirational "AH-HAH!!!" moments for my home game. This is a must-buy in the line.

LOVED this issue.

This issue provides thorough, methodical methods to merge two of your mutants into one. Provides a half-dozen all-new beasties (and, really, many more than that, as they evolve through their various lifecycles), and 16 all-new mutations.

Menace from the Wasteland

A sandbox setting suitable for PCs of any level, 'MFTW' has plenty to keep PCs busy. Bugs, swamps, she-beasts, robots, and more are ready to bedevil a party.

It's a little tame for my post-apocalyptic tastes, though, and needs an editor.

Another valuable edition to the WFTW line, this one expands on the "Aging" concepts from WFTW #2.

Some neat monsters here that I'd gladly use for my campaign.

I'd rate it as solid 3.5-4.

Buy it!

This is one crunchy supplement, and there's something for everyone regarding all things medical: New rules. New diseases. New gadgets. And even a new mutation as the proverbial cherry on top.

A great, great value for 99 cents, even if you don't use even a quarter of the content.

This is the most bang-for-your buck 'Wisdom' product yet.

5 monsters, 19 mutations, 10 "strange radiations" to alter, warp, and morph your landscape.

Fun stuff.

Wisdom from the Wastelands Issue #6: Factions
Publisher: Skirmisher Publishing
by Justin S. D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 04/12/2012 08:16:29

I put this one at a 2.5, as it didn't do a whole lot for me.

The plant-based cryptic alliance--I mean faction--is a schizophrenic hodge-podge of 3 disparate subgroups...and the animal one has 4. They don't gel that well internally, and they go for the kitchen sink approach.

The Legion (as in a post-apocalyptic French Foreign...) is a campaign in itself, and could be fun.

The Xenophobes are high-tech exterminators of all things "alien"...whatever that means at any given time.

No rules specifics are provided--initiation rites, secret symbols, membership breakdown by Race--and this may be the first time I've ever wanted more "crunch" over "fluff".

Wisdom from the Wastelands Issue #5: Domesticated Creatures
Publisher: Skirmisher Publishing
by Justin S. D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 04/03/2012 16:36:31

After being less than pleased with Issue #4, #5 comes along and cleanses the palate.

You get 10 new mutants (of which 6 are plants, and more monstrous flora is always welcome) and 2 new mutations. All interact with the campaign world in interesting ways, and I'll happily hork some for my own campaigns.

Other than some clunky grammar and a handful of editing mistakes, this is a snazzy supplement, well worth your $.99.
