Battle Strikers: Modern Combat RPG

As a rules lite RPG it's pretty light. But as a resource book for 80's style military action games it is AWESOME!! Of the 30 pages 2 make up the cover and TOC, 2 and a third make up the RPG rules and the reaming 26 are jammed packed a shed load of detailed Skills, Weapons, Characters, and other stuff.

The thing I really like is that Battle Strikes what presents in 30 pages takes hundreds of pages in other modern combat RPG source books.

The weapon descriptions are short and clear but tell you exactly what it can do. For example:
"Laser Pistol (Damage/Range/AP) ~ Laser pistols fire a burst of coherent light designed to melt through armor and bone."

There are a few skills that are redundant like Athlete, wouldn't everybody be an athlete since they are part of a Special Force/Black Ops team?

There are a few places where I see the crossover between the miniatures game Star Confrontations which I plan on using to build some custom SC Armies.

For $.99 cents this is a steal. I'm buying Supers Unleashed right now just to see what goodness it contains.

This is a gorgeous map. Yeah sure there are a few layout choices that I think could be done differently but for $1.00 who cares!!
I am using this map with some Fat Dragon Games 3-D dungeon walls to give my games that little something extra.

If my heart was still beating it would beat for you. [BUNDLE]

Send More Cops bundle is well worth the $4.50 I paid. The files provide enough info for some quick and easy zombie killin' and all of which is done in less than 50 pages.

Roar of the Crowd Advanced Edition
Publisher: Youngdale Productions
by Jay D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 09/12/2011 10:18:41
Gladiators battling it out in an arena is an awesome setting but Roar of the Crowd tries to take it beyond pure weapons and man by including Magic and Dragons.
It's not a bad idea to simulate a man vs magical beast but they should have either spent more time focusing of the core component of man vs man and saved the fantasy aspect for a supplement.

The biggest disappointment is in the formatting of the document: it's formatted in landscape mode but the text is a single column right in the middle of the page.

Final thoughts: meh.

AlphaVerse II
Publisher: Dilly Green Bean Games
by Jay D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 08/18/2011 11:47:39
AlphaVerse II is 50+ pages of awesome. Mr Libby does a great job of introducing the setting with a bit of history, the groups involved and then the characters available. AVII focuses more on the combat & action side and makes a good framework for using miniatures. I love this because I am not a huge RPG fan but I do like my miniature skirmish characters to have some dept and not juts a stat line.
Another fun part of this game is that there aren't really any good guys. Bad is good!! You've can play as a kill-crazy Black-Ops merc, a hunted Mutant, an under-dog Marine Commando or mutant hunter waring power armor to name a few things.

Likes: Page Count is low and formatted for 8.5 x 5 paper (2 pages on 1 sheet), the story line is totally cool because it takes place around New England (I'm from Maine), most of the rules can be used for miniature table top skirmishes.

Disliked: Where's Issue #5??I NEED MOAR!!! :)

Satisfied: 100%

DEAD G-Core
Publisher: Dilly Green Bean Games
by Jay D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 08/01/2011 14:53:47
G-Core DEAD is exactly what I needed to play zombified heroes ala Marvel Zombies.

This supplement also explains how to fit this into a Guardians world/campaign.

Liked: G-Core DEAD is written by a fellow Mainer, - this supplement could be used as a basis for a Post-Apocalyptic world

Disliked: The files are a bit ink hungry. A Screen version and a Print version would be nice but that's asking at bit much for such a low priced product.

Satisfied: Totally, 100%

We are very glad you liked. This PDF is great for Marvel Zombies. We had played the scenario in the GU about 8 years ago. It was a great way to tie in The Surgeon to all the GU product lines. The original super hero zombie for the Guardian Universe appeared back in 1989 during one of my game sessions!

Don't be fooled by the affordable prices of the Dilly Green Bean Games because for less than the price of lunch you can get a solid Super Hero RPG system along with plenty of Add-Ons that give you plenty cool stuff.
The G-Core book alone has had me entertained for hours with its comprehensive Character Creation process. The rules are simple pick-up and it doesn't matter if you've played using FASRIP or Fuzion before.

Liked: G-Core is written by a fellow Mainer, the system is flexible enough to support more than just Superheros & Jay's other projects are pretty cool, (I do not know Jay Libby)

Disliked: The files are a bit ink hungry. A Screen version and a Print version would be nice but that's asking at bit much for such a low priced product.
