Operation Thule

I'm editing my first review after the author's update. You will find the original review bottom because of transparency purposes.

I'm very surprised about the reaction of this publisher. He understood the criticism and he worked on a solution willingly. So I am absolutely grateful as a RPG GM and fully satisfied as a customer.

Now, you can find Argentinean pregens ready to play and plot tweaks in order to run the adventure from Argentinean side.

I would like to point a little typo. Eagle Eyes character name translation into Spanish is displayed as Ojos de Guila. You must use Ojos de Águila or Ojos de Aguila (I think is a problem related to the used font itself. You can write vocals with no marked accents in Spanish when you use capital letters).

So now my rating is changing to 4 stars. Muchas gracias, Stephen.

-------Original review---------- I was very excited about this adventure because of the action happens in a interesting historical frame. The adventure is very straightforward but this is not a problem if you plan to run a oneshot. I made the decision of purchasing this PDF when I read about the adventure is ready to play with British or Argentinean soldiers but the real thing is that you only will find British pregen characters and if you create some Argentinean PC's, the players will find themselves fighting against compatriots under von Wilstein command with no special indications on how you (or they) can deal with it.

This adventure is very suitable if you plan to run it for British soldiers but you will have to put some work on it if you want to surprise your players with Argentinean characters. A bunch of Argentinean pregens and some kind of a plot tweak for playing from Argentinean side would be essential.

Anyway 3 stars for Operation Thule.

Hey, thanks for the review and apologies for the lateness of this response. Sorry to hear that it didn't quite meet your full expectations I understand your critique, though I still hope that the material included with the adventure was still of use. I'll see about expanding the options for Argentinean character, though I hoped I'd provided enough material for people to work with. That said, I do plan to expand upon this with a more extensive product and a number of ideas to aid with this. Feedback and suggestions are always welcomed and thank you once again.

Jalizar, City of Thieves

Jalizar, the City of the Thieves is an interesting micro-setting where heroes can live exciting and dangerous adventures. Fast, fun and furious… Oh yes!

Factions, inhabitants, city neighbourhoods and a lot of adventure seeds ready to explore and/or expand. This book gives you setting rules in order to run an urban style campaign, and specific mechanics to manage some kind of situations, as roof chases for instance…

The info is very consistent and you can add, remove or change info easily in order to set the mood or style you need. As GM, I am very satisfied with this book because I can run a game or a campaign without spending a lot of time preparing it or I can add more and more details if I want to spend some time on it.

My players are mercenary adventurers spending some time in Jalizar, and the merchant houses, guilds and another factions give me a lot of play. And Jalizar is… Misterious, dangerous and so cruel…

I love the ambushes in foggy alleys but maybe my players don’t feel the same LOL

Moonless Night Over Grimdell
Publisher: GRAmel

Dim light ambients, twisted guards, silent kills (or not too silent maybe LOL), evil Lotus Master and a shocking intro for the heroes… Moonless over Grimdell is an one-session adventure for Beasts and Barbarians setting but you can set it on almost any setting.

MNoG gives to your heroes an infiltration situation with very simple directions but offering several ways to accomplish the mission, two entry routes first, and full freedom once in the castle. The plot is very very simple, but you will enjoy a good game session running this adventure.

The plot counts with an interesting twist but I can’t tell about it. It is a little surprise.

MNoG uses some Savage Worlds good points getting interesting and fast situations. Detection tokens, Dramatic Tasks, Social Conflict, Fatigue...

You get 9 pages for the adventure and 3 for stat blocks and no maps. Author claims that it is not necessary because of the little size of the castle. That is true, and MNoG gives you descriptions for all connections between locations but if you want to play using miniatures you could miss some battle maps.

I tweaked some little aspects of MNoG because I’m running B&B on my own setting and I made some battle maps. The experience was very exciting and my players an me enjoyed MNoG a lot.

If you are looking for a classic but yet interesting plot, you can consider Moonless Night Over Grimdell.

High-Space Ship Schematics 1
Publisher: StoryWeaver
by Gonzalo D. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 04/28/2014 04:56:58

StoryWeaver people put a lot of passion and heart into their products, and High-Space is a great way to run Space Opera / "Hard" Sci-Fi Savage Worlds games.

I love The Lantern setting, the Anti-Pattern meta-plot and the huge possibilities that offers to GM imagination in order to expand the High-Space setting.

With High-Space Schematics 1 you get info about 7 ships (including deck plans) with short flavor text explaining the source and purpose of every ship.

If you are looking for ship battle maps this is not your product, but High Schematics 1 is perfect if you want to use these ships just as starting point for your own creations or if you want to use the deck plans in order to run narrative scenes or to create tactical complications inside a ship.

The ships are not heavy armed, that is good for starting groups and small factions but if you want to use them for strong organizations in your game, you will need to increase the Adquisition Points and upgrade the basic ships (U.R.C, PTILE or UGP Military ships should be better armed than basic ships because their bigger budgets).

Supporting an indie company like StoryWeaver is a true pleasure for me and of course, I'm waiting for new stuff...
