An excellent set of plans; I'm extremely glad to see that John has listened to all the comments and criticisms regarding UKGs starship deck plans to date and produced a new set that addresses virtually all the problems I (and others) have had so far.
Firstly, the deck plans themselves are now considerably lightened up graphically - the floor tiles are now a textured light grey not too dissimilar to another publishers, and the various elements on top are now more pleasingly coloured ie the seats are a (toned down, not garish) red-orange in colour that contrasts with the floor. In addition to this, each section is now 'complete' on a page (ie rooms attached to each other are now contiguous and not broken up into individual rooms as previously) and make printing and assembling the ship much easier.
Onto the file containing the ship stats, again this is a marked improvement on previous releases, mainly everything has again been lightened from the darkness that prevaded prior releases. The cover background is much lighter which allows you to see the ship itself on the front as it goes from 'real ship' to '3D-schematic'; the 3 pictures of the ship in action are VERY nice, clear and crisp and with excellent backgrounds. The ship overview and keyed deckplan are similarly easily viewed and look great.
The ship itself is a pretty huge freighter consisting of a forward crew section (with three decks), a central spine to which cargo pods are attached (each pod has three floors itself and come in a number of different configurations) and finally an engineering section at the back that again has several decks, one of which is a gantry of sorts - this comes displayed as (1) the ground floor section, (2) the gantry, and (3) the ground floor with the gantry overlaid - good call, John.
Overall, if you've been put off UKG material previously by comments regarding the darkness of the deckplans or pictures (some of which were left by myself) then give this set a chance - you won't regret it. An EXCELLENT set, I for one now look forward with anticipation to future releases in this format.

LIKED: Greatly improved graphic quality, well constructed deckplans, a very useful ship at a good price.

DISLIKED: Pretty much every point I didn't like about previous releases in this series have been addressed - in short, there wasn't really anything I disliked this time around :)

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
