A wonderful update to the classical 4 color rules. The upcoming sword and sorcery game shows the rules can model non supers settings.

This is by far the best fleshed out retro FASERIP ruleset. I was impressed with its clarity, production quality, and self-contained campiagn ideas. I am looking forward to further publications in this line, including a remake of the Ultimate Powers Book.

Wonderfully edited and presented core rulebook using the proven Cortex Rules Engine. I missed the Serenity RPG but the Firefly RPG is evidence MWP is serious about giving the 'verse the love it deserves this go around.

Wonderful game for the money, I was thrilled with the setting as you can tun your own version of the Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon/Space 1999 settings with the mechanics included.
Nice job by CGL.

CT: Colonial record is an excellent sourcebook for individuals wishing to model the dawn of the age of revolutions. The rules are applicable to any settings from the Napoleonic era to the War for Texas Independence. Utilizing Precis' modular concept of interlocking genres I could see combining this take on Coyote trail with hard Nova 2 to model an age of piracy in space.
A good job at a good value, excellent bang for the buck.

Coyote Trail is a d6 based game that has a slew of stroytelling tools for the cost. Precis did a good job of laying out the basics of the genre's narrative and presented the material well. The modularity of Coyote trail to Precis' other settings for the Genre system means you can model anything from Serenity to red dead redemption as well as films.
A must buy, the entire settings' sourcebooks and rules costs under 25 bucks.
Hats off.

Well crafted product. Was interesting reading the incorporation of "earth as we Know it" directly into the Serenity universe. The Maps were well done and the story is fairly good. A nice value for the current price.

Big Damn Heroes is as much an incorporation of the improvements made in clarity for the cortex system for the Battlestar Galactica RPG as it is a simple sourcebook. Covering the mechanics necessary for gamemastering as well as offering good theory on creating unit cohesion for the PCs it is a rather large book that some companies may well have tried to split into 3 different supplements. For a real laugh run the Serenity Chinese glossary through babblefish.

Serenity Adventures features a multi-session framework for a campaing asking "what happened to the non-amnestied browncoat leadership and the wealth used in the conflict?"
Any GM who wants stats for more tech and decent NPC archetypes would be well served making the buy.

The gear, guns, and techspecs on the ships are a big help. If you are looking for the "Alludium Q36 Space modulator dual phase array toothpick" to have a three paragraph treatment you may be disappointed, but the sourcebook does do a decent job comparing and contrasting the differences between civillian and military kit in the game universe.

I liked the art of the screen, the data was very pertinent to gameflow. A possible solution is to have it laminated at Kinkos and used as a roadmap style flip booklet in lieu of trying to reproduce the cardboard feel.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how well the rules system portrayed the ambiance of the series. The cortex system under the hood is akin to the reflex system in that neither allows rules lawyering to get in the way of the story. Very nice effort by Margaret Weis Productions and at a very nice price.
