Disposable Heroes Paper Minis (Fantasy)
Publisher: Precis Intermedia
by Stephen P. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 02/08/2004 00:00:00

Not bad, a fair selection, the illustrations are cartoon styled, my only real complaint is the gaps they left on some of the pages. Even if they didn't want to have any more different varieties these gaps should have been filled up with the most monsters already within the product. That is the chief reason it only gets three stars, rather than four.

Thanks for leaving feedback, but just to clarify: Even if every page was filled to the max, you would still have the same amount of pages. We played around with it to get you the most efficient layout. The way it is provides the least amount of cutting. Since some minis are oversized, they are grouped together. If not, you would be twisting and turning quite a bit to get the pages cut and it would be a major pain for you.

Maelstrom Fantasy Campaign Setting Worldbook
Publisher: Darkfuries Publishing
by Stephen P. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 02/08/2004 00:00:00

This product is a disappointment, as a campaign setting it has virtually no ideas in it. I found the product dry and uninspiring to read, for instance I'm really not interested in the breakdown of the population of every major city, and it won't add anything to the games I play. Campaign settings should inspire me with ideas and give me a vision of a world, not just numbers, numbers, numbers. The sheer amount of mind-numbing repetitive work that the author put into this is truly astounding.

The selection of monsters is good, artwork I would only describe as fair, though the artwork is clear and functional, all I ask really from this type of product.

Lots of variety but could have used a few more monsters, rather than the huge variation of adventurer types, but still wothwhile.

Come for the Reaping

There is no messing around here, run it a fast pace and you have a very good adventure (if you are after a kick down the door and send them back to where they came from type of modern horror adventure). What does make this stand out though is the presentation, attention to detail - all those little bits that make your life as the GM as easy as possible.

The Thing in Radley Manor (Action!, d20)
Publisher: Gold Rush Games
by Stephen P. [Verified Purchaser]

Good idea, fun adventure, some poor execution. Good points, NPC descriptions and interaction. Bad points should have had a map of the interior of the Manor. But it is only $2.95!

I was hoping for ideas from this supplement, sadly there are not many good ones in here. I would have preferred fewer ideas that were more developed, rather than a bunch of teen horror movie rip-offs.

Last Rites: anniversary edition

Excellent adventure, very creepy, lots of ideas to springboard other adventures from. Not very linear and encourages roleplaying rather than dungeon bashing. Recommended (I ran it under Hunter: The Reckoning)

Modern Player's Companion, Volume One
Publisher: The Game Mechanics
by Stephen P. [Verified Purchaser]

The combination of basic character classes is very good, it does prompt players to think out of a linear progression. The advanced on balance are useful, even if just for a DM.
