Savage Tales #1: Privateer's Bounty!

This adventure provides a great 6 hours fun. I found it a good introduction for my group to Savage Worlds. Everybody loves pirates and privateers are close enough to provide the thrill without the possible negative connotations.

The adventure itself is quite combat heavy but has a surprise twist near the end that makes it quite memorable.

My one complaint is the length: It took us about 6 hours to complete it, about a session and a half. If your group is already familiar with Savage Worlds, you might be able to get through it in the "standard" 4 hour game session.

Overall, a solid one-shot adventure. It won't readily serve as the basis for a campaign, but it certainly is a blast to run.

LIKED: Everyone loves pirates and privateers are darn close!

DISLIKED: A bit too long for one session.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied

Tournaments, Fairs, and Taverns: D&D 3.5

A unique look at a usually overlooked facet of fantasy worlds. While I doubt any group will use all of information, almost everyone can use some of it. I especially liked the various dangerous tavern games.

The material is general enough that much of it is of use to even non-d20 GMs like myself. Just be aware that, like any d20 product, about 1/4 of the book is devoted to various rules the various tavern games or running a tournament.

While I didn't find the sample settings terribly engaging but they do help to spark the imagination. Overall, it's money well spent.

LIKED: Tavern games, especially Drunken Daggers!

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied

Evernight Figure Flats

Provides just about every figure you need for Evernight (only ogres are missing). Where else can you find miniature for Spiders and all the unique enemies in Evernight?

My only complaint is the work needed to assemble the triangular figures, although there are also options for standard 2D figures.

LIKED: Great concept; well executed.

DISLIKED: Some of the figures appeared too dark. Ogres are missing.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied

Evernight Player's Guide

Provides a good handout to players but has several large shortcomings. It still has all the typos in the printed book: Many of the sample characters have errors in them, some spells refer to the wrong templates, etc. Prepare to use some serious white-out before handing this out to your players.

LIKED: Good idea to help get info into players's hands.

DISLIKED: Way too many typos.

QUALITY: Poor

VALUE: Satisfied
