Another collection of usefull heroes & villians each with their own cool origin and JLU inspired art. Looking forward to using the BulletProof robots, both vers. of Mercury and rest(once I figure out how) in my campaign world.

I like the Mirror Uiverse Series, lot of heroes and idea and nice art too. This one has a lot of unusual character both on the good and evil side which make it very palatable.

I was sold from the first by the Justice League Unlimited style artwork of the British tank-looking guy (Bulletproof, as I now know) on the cover. The idea is a great one, and I imagine will be a real help to many players who have inspirational problems with silver age style heroes or just plain can't draw!

It's exactly what it says, a collection of stand-up character cards in colour and b&w for play, as well as some background ideas for each of them as both a hero or villain. As a note, these are brief, but in-fitting accounts, and they aren't just good/evil versions of the same character, they do present entirely different origins for the most part, so even if you use one as a hero the GM can likely use the villain options too! Nice touch.

My only complaint, such as it is, is that £2.45 is ever so slightly steep. I'm sure in USD it works out to some tidier amount, but had these been £2 apiece I would likely have bought the whole set immediately. Still, it's hardly overpriced, and if you're looking to do a superhero game and are worried your players are going to pitch a half dozen loathsome batman/punisher clones to you, grab a few of these heroes to show them the light.

Solid art with several nice designs per set. This is one of my favorite sets of the Mirror Universe line. There's not a whole lot of explication in the origin tales, but it's more than enough for inspiration. You even start to get an idea about the game world, because some of the origins from different sets begin to tie in together. If you already have your own campaign setting, the information isn't so specific that you would have to do much (if any) work to make them fit. Keep these products coming.

An RPG Resource Review:

This is a second collection of superhero images - presented as stand-up, miniatures-sized stand-up and counter - which can be used in play to represent your character or indeed any costumed NPC/villain that you might encounter. Again, if you do not like the colour scheme (or don't have a colour printer) there are line art versions as well.

There is quite a good variety - male and female, weapon-wielders, folks with big muscles, agile-looking ones, armoured ones and so on - so if none in the first volume appealed it is worth a look to see if one of these fits your concept better.

As a bonus, there are 'condition markers' for use with the Mutants & Masterminds system - rather oddly, there's one per full-colour page of character images rather than on a single sheet. There are also 'backgrounds' (text only, no statistics) for the characters, presented as either hero or villain, if you are in need of a quick concept.

Like Vol.1, a useful product for a group to have if they like visual representations of their characters but lack an artist.

Mirror Universe is a nice product, it explores a well used plot device from the comics genre and wraps it up in a fun player friendly book.

LIKED: Nice art, and some different concepts than you may see in some games.

DISLIKED: By the discription I expected a full page picture of each of the characters, not just the foldups.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
I'm fond of this series. I was impressed with the first one, and I'm equally satisfied with this one.

LIKED: The art is excellent and evocative, and the concepts are generic enough to use in almost any campaign.

DISLIKED: Very little, though I had a little trouble in printed the B&W copies when I tried to. Not sure what happened.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Continuing the great character design style from the previous versions, this set includes some wonderful new standees.

An interesting improvement over; the layouts are done in portait rather than landscape. This seems to have have improved the printing speed a bit. However, printing speed still seems to be an issue.

LIKED: Great character designs.

DISLIKED: Still some printing speed issues.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
A very stylish product that offers you some nice character designs for those of us who are artistically challenged (or at least for me, since I can?t draw a coffee pot). The character designs range from great to mediocre (but that is a matter of personal taste) and the same goes for the concepts. If the guys from Inspired Device would add some gamestats for the given concepts the product would be even better. Stand-ups, minis & counters have proven very useful in my M&M games so far. As long as this production quality is maintained, I will continue to buy the Mirror Universe products.

LIKED: The b/w art and counters allows for some customization.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Satisfied
I've got all three volumes now, and I like them a lot. I love the style artwork of the Batman/Superman/Justice League Unlimited cartoons on Cartoon Network, and these heroes would fit in just perfect. I can't wait to see more.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Another batch of heroes/villains ready to enter the fray. Each entry is suitable as an NPC or possibly a PC character with a small write up. All in all a great time saver for GMs and Players alike.

LIKED: Write ups on each character gave a good feel on how to play each

DISLIKED: Not sure about the utility of the stand ups

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Pretty much the same as the 1st volume. Very nice product, useable with any superhero RPG. DCU style drawings are very well done.

LIKED: Style of the artwork and fact that the stand-ups don't have the characters name so you can make up your own.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
A really good tool for GMs and players alike. Get yourself stuck on a character design or concept? These'll help fill in the gap in style, with options for both good and bad guys/gals.

LIKED: I liked the option for either color artwork or line art versions, especially if you like a design, but have a concept that calls for a different color scheme.

DISLIKED: The concepts could stand a tad more fleshing out, and it'd be nice if the line art versions could be extracted for coloring using programs like Photoshop or Painter. I understand why they aren't, but it'd still be nice if they were.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
