Very nice, but of fairly limited, specific use. More folios on a similar bend with more variety and with more going on 'in shot' would be great.

Very nice collection of line art for unique buildings, hideouts, or headquarters.

Not at all what I was hoping for. There are about 2 images in here that I would qualify as "fantasy" but the rest have an alien or sci-fi feel to them.

That being said, the images are decent quality for clip art. I'm sure I'll find a use for them.

I'd recommend for the publisher to include a contact sheet showing all of the images included.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Definitely agree with the other reviewier who said most of this would fit better in Science Fiction than fantasy. It's all nice artwork, but only a few are usable for traditional fantasy.

I'm torn about this product. The art is excellent, quite imaginative and sure to spark great ideas. The downside is that the word "fantasy" in the title does not necessarily is used to mean"medieval, D&D-type" fantasy, but more like "fantastic". The majority of the headquarters illustrated have a strong pulp/sci-fi feel to them (think Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon and you're on the right track) with a few being usable for traditional fantasy. Personally I think the product should be renamed to "Fantastic Headquarters" to avoid the confusion, which seems to be the main complaint against the product. This said, for $3.00, it is a great collection of art for the amateur publisher or DM, and is sure to spark some interesting ideas, especially if you are playing (or intend to play) some pulp-y sci-fi type of game.

Nice. Not the best in this line, but nice. Somewhat useful - if you can find one piece of art, it's worth the money. Thing is, you may not find that one piece of art, and end up coming back to it over and over, just to keep saying, 'nah, none of this fits.' There is a lot of weird stuff, and some that are definitely freaky sci-fi, but there is some neat art here. I recommend it, but only if you already have all the other Image Portfolios and like all of them. I'm glad I bought it.

Exactly what you expect from this series... high-contrast black and white line art with plenty of white space for easy "cut and paste." This one does seem to have more "science fiction" than "fantasy" to its feel, though (the one drawback to it). Overall, though, the quality and type of art is exactly what is expected from this series, so no disappointements with the art itself apart from the "a little too much sci-fi" look.

The other problem (at least in my mind) is the excessive space devoted to advertising... the final 7 pages (a quarter of the book) are advertising for other products from the company. While one or two pages may be expected (I don't like advertising in general, but I suppose I can tolerate a page or two), having a quarter of the product devoted to advertising seems a bit much - especially when the ads are higher-quality photos and some are in color - and therefore the ads contribute appreciably to the file size.

A 3/5... a good product with one point "deducted" for losing focus and mixing sci-fi with fantasy and a second point "deducted" for too many ads. If you can stomach the ads - or just ignore them - it's a 4/5 - and if you don't mind some sci-fi in there, it's a 5/5. You can't beat the price:content ratio for art if you're a publisher in any case.
