The quality of the art is uneven, but with so many portraits, it's hard to fault the selection. My complaints are primarily about the presentation. The graphics are all loaded into a single PDF. The instructions for getting the pictures out are for a professional Adobe product. I tried using copy and paste in Adobe Reader, but the graphics are obscured by decorative rectangular frames and it is impossible. I tried to open the file in LibreOffice, but discovered that inexplicably, the file has password protection. The only way I have been able to get at the pictures is to use a screenshot, or use GIMP to import a JPEG, resulting in lower quality images with an unwanted border graphic. I rate this product poorly because it is almost impossible to use with any of a half dozen programs I have available to me to manipulate PDFs.

Unlike the cover the portraits are black and white. I did not see anything that said they were not color. I take the middle road on recommendation and be a druid.

DISLIKED: The color. I would like to have know before hand that the art was not color.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
I rate this product below average for several reasons. First there is no uniform look. There are several artists with each having their own way of drawing. Personally I would have prefered same style through out the whole book. Second the perspective of each portrait is different. One can be mostly head, where as the other can be full body. Again I would have prefered more or less standard distance for each. There are four portraits on each page and I belive it would have been better if each was in a square frame rather than a rectangle. Ofcourse it is possible to edit them for counter use, although presenting them in square frames would have made job easyier. All in all I belive the artists could have put more efford, so quality of portraits are average at best.
