Dope Fiends
Publisher: LPJ Design
by Joseph B. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 01/02/2005 00:00:00
Dope Fiends contains two new Advanced classes for d20 Modern games that feature elements of the illicit drug culture, the Pusher and the Candy Man. Both Advanced classes would probably be appropriate for NPCs only in most modern campaigns, but would still make good additions as PC classes in grittier modern campaigns like Haven: City of Violence. The Pusher specializes in selling drugs on the streets and in the clubs, while the Candy Man is the chemist who specializes in creating designer drugs.

LIKED: Both of the Advanced Classes in Dope Fiends are balanced and have the same "gritty" feeling of urban decay found in the other Modern classes by Devil's Workshop. This product is a nice companion piece to The Little Black Drug Book.

DISLIKED: This product is billed as a "supplement to (The) Little Black Drug Book", another product by LPJ Design/Devil's Workshop. I would have to say that product is absolutely necessary to use the Candy Man Advanced class, as a few of the class features rely on rules for drug creation found in that product. The Pusher, however, should port very nicely into your campaign if you don't own The Little Black Drug Book. But if you are running a campaign where the illicit drug culture plays a part, you're going to want to pick up The Little Black Drug Book anyway - it's an excellent supplement.
