This model goes together fast and fairly easy. At first I thought I should reinforce the main body as it feels a little flimsy. However once I had the model complete the other pieces strengthened it up very nicely. I am entirely pleased with this model. I plan to use it for Pulp and as an underground APC for Bug wars using Two Hour Wargames 5150 rules.

While I often use paper minis in my games I rarely used paper scenery or vehicles. I just draw big stuff on the dry erase board, or use other objects of about the right size to represent things.

The earth drill is an exception, because it's just awesome. Pretty easy to put together, impressive looking, and it does add something to the game. It's evocative of the genre, and as it's to scale with paper character figures it gives a feel of the size of the thing. This is probably the cardstock piece that makes me re-evaluate my feelings toward cardstock scenery and props.

I got this for use in my Space:1889 campaign.

The model has just enough detail to be effective as a game piece. The instructions are minimal yet quite clear and easy to follow, and the model is very quick and easy to construct. From purchase to completed assembly was less than two hours, and that is including time to let the sub-assemblies dry before combining them together.

Being a simple model, it lends itself to easy kitbashing as well. Overall, and excellent piece that I highly recommed for anyone running a pulp or steampunk themed game.

So I just picked up Hollow Earth Expedition at Origins, looking for yet another solid Pulp themed RPG and was not disappointed in the slightest. Also got the GM screen at the same time, and the intro adventure in there prominently includes an Earth Drill. So instead of trying to explain the contraption to players who may or may not have an idea of what I am talking about, I got this. Now an important note. Even though the picture shows a T-Rex, there is none in this pack. What you are getting here is the Drill. The instructions are clear and each part is its own PDF which can be printed as much as needed (so that your players can be chased by a whole army of Nazi thugs in a battalion of these if you wished). So for the price its a good deal. Especially when your players are ready to return to the surface, have a running fight with some dinosaur who dies and crushes their drill in a dramatic table smashing fashion.

As always, the model was easy to put together, and his forums clear up any extra questions. Another great set.

Thess models are totally cool! The drill is an absolute breeze to put together and looks very good once finished. The T-Rex, while being a little harder to assemble, well duh, is no where near as difficult as some of the other cardstock companies stuff to assemble and looks really good once you get him done. I use it for my Hollow Earth games and my WW2 Weird War games.
