e-Adventure Tiles: Flooded Caves Vol. 2

Wow Ed, you really always know what I need - I'm running an adventure with a white water rapids chase, and was just going to make do with Flooded Caves and the one rapids tile from the Scarlet Mold set, but this set will work perfectly.

Aside from the utility of using it for underground rivers and waterfalls, this set works great simply as an add on to Flooded Caves, by adding six new connections to the Cave Passages sets. It features the same great artwork that has been the hallmark of previous e-Adventure tilesets, but steps it up a notch (like several of the last few tilesets have) over the original Flooded Caves set with greater amounts of detail.

e-Adventure Tiles: Ghoul Burrow

Another excellent set from Ed! The quality of the e-Adventure sets is really increasing, and it really shows in this set. Each tile, even the standard straight line connecting tiles, is meticulously detailed with bones, coffins, and exposed root systems. The artwork is really beautiful (or at least as beautiful as a dreadful ghoul-filled complex can be) and really gets across a feeling of claustrophobia and dread. While it would work well in any campaign, this seems almost like it was made especially for Ptolus, for the tunnels under the Necropolis - Did Monte demand you make this for his current home campaign ;)?

That said, there are a few things stopping me from giving this 5 stars. First, the set could have used a few more varied shapes of tiles - the introduction of two connections on each edge makes for more variations than 25 tiles allows for, and a few of these that would be very useful seem to be missing (namely, a tile like GB03 but without the bottom connection, and a tile like GB13 without the upper connector on the right edge, and possibly a tile with two connections on opposing edges, but no branching connections on the other two sides). Secondly, there are no connections to other tilesets - the modularity and interchangeability of the e-Adventure sets are one of the main draws to me, so its a shame that there are none in this set. A bonus tile or two connecting this to the Caves or Dungeons sets seems missing, and a connection to the Ghul's Labyrinth set would be a blessing.

Certainly worth the buy without these, though - I can't wait to spring a trip to the cemetary on my players!

e-Adventure Tiles: Adventure Town - Wharf

I'm very glad to see some more additions to the Adventure Town series, and this came in very handy in my Ptolus Campaign. I especially appreciate how it syncs up well with the Canals, Warehouses, and High Seas warships tiles.

My only problem with the set is that the Wharfs are far too empty - the Warehouse tiles and the holds of the Warships seem to be bursting at the seams with cargo, and in comparison the Wharfs are barren. It was easy enough to copy in some barrels and crates in Photoshop, but it would be nice if some of the tiles were not so static.

I look forward to more entries in the Adventure Town series!
