I must first say that I was skeptical of the unisystem coming into the purchase of this game as I am a D20 enthusiast! After finishing the Ghosts Of Albion I have become a fan of the Cinematic Unisystem! Very simple but not dumb downed---very effective! What about the Ghosts of Albion itself? Information is found within the book quite easily...in essence, this book is very accessible and is a simple read. Those looking for heavy numbers crunching will be disappointed though. If your looking for a smooth and easy ride this game and system are for you!! I highly recommend it!
This game is awesome. One of my favorite applications of cinematic unisystem. While the game is set in Victorian England it could be used for a lot of different applications. The magic system is one of the best for a cinematic feel. Its great to find a game where players can play all manor of supernatural and strange character types (mages, vampires, ect) while still being balanced.
Although I picked up and printed out the entire book if the book comes out in print I'm picking it up too.
Containing a wealth of rules for any type of Urban Fantasy campaign GoA is an excellent product. It provides a retooled and expanded magic system and rules for playing ghosts, Fae, Vampire etc. The Victorian background is well researched and supported but is not necessary. Ghosts of Albion is a wonderul product that is flexible enough to be used for anything from sword and sorcery to more mondern urban fantasy campaigns.
