Complex system that's incredibly versitile, doesn't try to force its own flavour, and fits almost any modern setting. Books in the PDF are also very well structured and easy to read.

A rules heavy old style game. They covered the topic well; but have 30 possible hit locations and this was before the D30.

If you like old school; you will enjoy this. It reminds me of Advanced D&D; but really covers the topic with rules and I mean lots of them.

I don't know if the product I downloaded is the same one that was reviewed in 2005, but my copy was clean and well-scanned. Aftermath! was produced in the very early eighties and access to high quality printing for RPG's wasn't always affordable for small press companies like FGU. What you see in the downloaded copy is very similar to the original quality of the typeset and it isn't bad. If you like what you see in the demo pages that is what you see here.

The game itself is a fairly complex rules system. If you have played FGU's Bushido or Daredevils you will be at home with these rules, though they are slightly more complex then either of those two.

Initially I was skeptical to purchase this pdf based on the reviews but it was much BETTER than I expected. As for game, if you like a highly detailed rule set to cover most every aspect of a post ruin genre this is the game for you. Aftermath is an excellent non-level based system that could be adapted to most any desired genre with a little work. Not recommended for the first time GM.
