a really interesting model, and following in the quality of the rest of his works. though it says "country", it could fit in any "non-urban" setting really, not looking out of place ina small village or edge of a small town.

nice to see a race specific bldg like this. I'd love to see enough to do a modest settlement worth....

I would hope other races may be coming in the future...In particular I'd like to see a dwarven series. An elven series (based on Rivendell perhaps?) would also be very welcome.

i'm a big fan of Dave Graffam models. The "winterized" versions have found prominent usage and are a nice touch for a different feel....

I'm a big fan of all Dave Graffam's models..the sale let me complete my collection...

My only complaint with any of them are purely personal opinion...don't really care for the "moss dots" circles used for the "weathered" layer... However, i'm not sure of an alternative and they do not detract overall. When i have the option, i typically turn them off, but i'm not so unhappy with them that i'd not use a model based on them.

I do question the location of a couple of chimneys on some models, but again, that's a minor issue.

I would like to see a fourth "gate" structure to go with the other 3 and complete the set.

In general, I find his models remarkable in their detailing (Particularly the "winterized" versions) and all are interesting. my gaming groups have all enjoyed having a "town" to walk through. some of them have requested interior floor plans....

Creator Reply:
The moss dots and chimney positions are totally valid criticisms. Each model is a one-off for me, and I learn something new with each kit I design. This is an older model, in fact it\'s one of my earliest models, so I was still figuring a lot of things out. These days I try to think more carefully about things like chimney placement, and try to produce more realistic-looking textures. I\'m sure there are some models with windows where chimneys should be, but hopefully my newer stuff doesn\'t have that problem. :) Thanks for picking up this kit and writing a review!

Rippers: Death on Dartmoor

Over all the plot is interesting, with enough twists to throw the unwary off track. Some aspects are a little troublesome in that if the party is lacking a particular skill, it's difficult to advance the story. (someone with Tracking is virtually a must!)

The story itself is engaging, and the NPCs well-fleshed, with plenty of specifics but enough room to allow for GM creativity.
The challenges of the case are such it will not be an easy walk, requiring the full range of combat, social and investigative skills to deal with them.

Aspects of the timing becomes tricky if the party dallies much at all, but they won't know that until the window of opportunity has already closed. Tying in the right culprits into the right places may prove a bit of a challenge for those not of an investigative bent. Combat has the potential to become overwhelming if the group has "kicked the hornet's nest" too hard.

All in all, it's an interesting case for even experienced Rippers, though newer groups would do well to bring numbers.....
