A nice collection of material for Tombs & Terrors that includes a variety of new classes for the game. The text is clear, the art ranges from fair to very good, and the price is right.

OSR Bonus Cards: Fantasy Deck #1
Publisher: Small Niche Games
by William W. [Featured Reviewer]
Date Added: 03/05/2012 16:11:41
A neat addition to most any RPG, these cards provide random bonuses to PCs, both generic and class-specific. Three different methods are provided for distributing/awarding the cards to players (and I've begun to cook up some others of my own that may work well, also).

The old-school style artwork is a nice touch - and while the instructions mention printing the cards onto cardstock and cutting them out, I think another workable alternative would be to print them onto sticker paper, then cut them out and affix them to a regular deck of playing cards.

This is a great little product that can add some fun variety to classic fantasy RPGs.

Zombacalypse - Savage Worlds
Publisher: Silver Gryphon Games
by William W. [Featured Reviewer]
Date Added: 03/05/2012 16:00:54
This Savage Worlds sourcebook is packed with information on running a game in the zombie apocalypse/survival horror genre - a "zombie kit" for SW games. Many options and possibilities are provided, many of them based on popular tropes from zombie movies, films, and fiction - the cause of the uprising, the attributes of zombies (slow vs. fast, intelligent or unintelligent, etc.), the aspects of survival, and more. While most subjects don't get more than a paragraph or two of attention, there is enough of a springboard to help the GM develop the apocalyptic world he truly desires.

The book includes sections on fighting zombies (with lots of info on different types of weapons and tactics), a very rich scenario section (which includes scenarios set in different time periods), a "Zombinomicon" of different zombie types, and an adventure set during the American Civil War.

This is an excellent treatment of the zombie genre that is well-organized, and filled with great horror artwork. While best used for Savage Worlds, a lot of the material here would be useful for inspiration for any RPG, and it's very reasonably priced.

JG Traveller- Starships and Spacecraft v1.1
Publisher: Game Designers' Workshop (GDW)
by William W. [Featured Reviewer]
Date Added: 03/05/2012 15:40:26
An excellent reprinting and expansion of a Judge's Guild classic. The images and text are very clear, with only a few image artifacts.

The original Starships and Spacecraft includes Ship's Title Papers, a design spec sheet, ship summary sheet, crew roster sheet, six different ship styles (with summary sheets for each), and numerous smaller craft (mostly shuttles).

The new material added to this classic book include a comparative ship size chart, a new shuttle type, and some ground vehicles. The pages with new and updated material are all clearly marked as such.

-JUNK- Ravenlands 3: River and Bridge (1" square = 5')
Publisher: Scrying Eye Games
by William W. [Featured Reviewer]
Date Added: 03/03/2012 09:41:26
A nice set of high-quality tiles for any fantasy or medieval RPG that uses miniatures. These tiles are very detailed and colorful, and don't have much of that cut-and-paste repetition you often see in other maps and tilesets. This set includes overlays for the interior of the building (in case PCs decide to investigate it) and for a ruined bridge (in case the PCs or NPCs have been a little destructive or careless).

Paper Minis Coliseum Morpheuon (PFRPG)
Publisher: Rite Publishing
by William W. [Featured Reviewer]
Date Added: 03/03/2012 08:13:15
This book contains stats and paper minis of characters for the Coliseum Morpheuon setting. Most of the material here is already included in the original book, so it won't be as much use to anyone who already owns it - but by itself, it's a good set of paper minis done in a somewhat cartoonish style, great if you're playing a fantasy anime RPG, or running a game for kids.

A nice set of high-quality tiles for any fantasy or medieval RPG that uses miniatures. Use these maps for those obligatory times when your players all meet in a tavern. These tiles are very detailed and colorful, and don't have much of that cut-and-paste repetition you often see in other maps and tilesets. All parts of the tavern are included, even the basement and roof.

People's Revolution: Villains of WWII (ICONS)
Publisher: Vigilance Press
by William W. [Featured Reviewer]
Date Added: 03/03/2012 07:30:16
Another collection of WWII-era superhero source material from Vigilance Press. This time it's a collection of Soviet Supers - Red Hammer, Night Witch, Ice Fang, Trans-Siberian Express, Red Legionnaire, Battle Czar, Sovi-Ape, Revolutionary Fire, and Kastaka (Killer Whale). Each has a great illustration, and full backstory. Great for use with ICONS or any WWII era four-color superhero RPG (after a bit of conversion, of course).

Six Japanese supervillians, and a race of Banmin ("savage men") for ICONS (or could be used for any other WWII-themed superhero RPG, with a bit of conversion. The illustrations are very good, and each villain appears on their own page, which is always convenient for anyone wishing to print them out.

Hold Em Scene Generator: Medieval Edition
Publisher: Vulpinoid Studios
by William W. [Featured Reviewer]
Date Added: 03/02/2012 08:48:46
An ingenious method of using a standard deck of cards to play a variant of Texas Hold 'Em that helps to develop a story. Each suit represents different types of influences (Hearts are emotional, Clubs are physical, Diamonds are mystical, and Spades are intellectual), and each phase of the game represents different story elements (location, situation, intention, escalation, and resolution). A series of tables provides meanings for each individual card in each phase.

The game can not only develop a current story, it can be used to develop backstory as well, which could be a great way to spice up character generation.

This is a very clever tool for random story inspiration.

Headless Hydra Clip Art 7

Two humans - one male, one female - appear to have stepped out of the safety of the inn to confront something in the evening fog. This full-color image is a bit creepy and atmospheric, and would make a good choice for a full column (or "skyscraper") illustration in an RPG book or supplement.

[d20] Complete Characters #8 - Seldr the Starseer
Publisher: Jason Richards Publishing
by William W. [Featured Reviewer]
Date Added: 03/02/2012 08:27:58
I'm a big fan of this series. The characters are unique and well detailed, and there is an incredible amount of story-rich material packed in just a few pages, with a high-quality piece of character art to top all of it off. The "Tweaks" section gives the GM several options to customize the character to his liking.

Seldr is a stargazer and soothsayer, and could possibly have come to your world from another far away. To help Seldr find messages among the stars, this document contains a simple set of soothsaying rules, in case your system lacks them. Beyond that, this product is systemless, so that you can use it with the RPG system of your choosing.
