I purchased this product to run an original edition style campaign and was not disappointed The guys at Goblinoid have done a wonderful job recreating the style and feel of the original game. I would recomend this to anyone wanting to run an Oe game but, like me, lacking the hundreds of dollars that the original rules are now commanding at the auction sites. The only thing I would change would be to offer a digest sized print edition.
A great set of rules that captures the old school flavor. I will be using this set for a campaign I'm currently developing. The only thing I found wonky is the single saving throw for everything. I think they should have tied that to ability score modifiers for different saving types. Overall a very professional and concise rules set.
This product is indispensable in running and developing my OD&D campaign. It includes rules, charts and guidelines from many of Judge's Guilds products all at my fingertips. I recommend it highly to anyone interested in playing the very first edition of the worlds most popular role playing game, especially if you intend to use the "Wilderlands" campaign settings.
I found myself waxing nostalgic while reading this product. Maps 1 - 5 must be purchased seperately, however it is a tremendous value all the same. The original Wilderlands is ment to be used with 1e or 0el. For 3.xe or later systems I would recommend the newer Wilderlands product.
