This product is a quick but very interesting read. The author aims to provide a historical background for the Parthians and her enemies including rome and some from the east. There are suggested historical army lists from the early, middle and late period of the Parthian Empire. These lists are geared toward Impetus Wargames rules but could eaily be adapted to other rules sets that have element based units such as DBx or have homnogenous units (all units have the same amount of stands) such as Ancient and Medieval Wargaming. If you are interested in the Parthians and her enemies, pick this PDF up. You will not be diappointed.

The game is as advertised, a wargame in the old school style. I am partial to such games as these because they are simple and easy to play without getting bogged down in the minutia of other "modern: wargames rules. The writing is easy to read and the rules are well explained.
One minor gripe deals with the deployment of infantry in the various firing systems. The rules suggest that platoon firing infantry should normally be deployed in a long single line while the rank firing troops should be deployed in a double line. While platoon firing infantry were deployed in shallower lines, it was not to the order of 2-1! The firing tables already take into account that rank firing was less efficient than platoon firing so I think it would be better to have them deploy the same with the front rank firing.
I would have giving this game 5 stars if there were a few army lists and maybe even a scenario. So it gets 4 but in my opinion it is well worth the money. Anyone who is interested in getting a quick play set of rules for 18th century warfare in the "old style" should give these a try.

The game is nothing more than the All Purpose Miniatures Rules published by Crunchy Frog in a new wrapper. Avalon seems to be breaking the system up into installments. This installment is the skirmish game. No massed or massive combat is included. No Robots. No vehicles. I own the original game so I am, naturally disappointed. If you own the original game, don't bother. If you don't and want to buy a game in installments, the system is not a bad one.

More figures similar to the other figures we've seen from Okum and this one is free! The set includes 5 adventurers and 5 villains. The villains are goblinoid types while the adventurers are those character types we've come to know and love. As this set is a free set, you will find the layers are more static than those of the pay sets. There is no weapon/equipment customization. The layers only change the color of the figures. But like I said. It's free. Have a look and decide if these are the figures for you. If so, check out some of the other offerings from Okum.

I am always looking for historical paper minis as an inexpensive way to play table top games. This set by Okum Arts is a fine set of miniatures that can be customized to make different warriors.
What you get: As the information says, there are 12 poses. Each pose can have a different colored outfit. There are three choices to choose from. You can give them a shield or no shield. You can give them spear, sword or axe. Some of the poses have helmets while others are bare headed. This is not customizable however.
Impression and Accuracy: The figures do look the part. As there are 3 kinds of weapons, it would be easy to print out an entire warband of many different looks. I have some minor problems with this set. First, the second and third figure on the top hold a weapon slightly across the body. The weapon appears that way on both the front and the back. The back should have hid the weapon partially from view. Second. No armored figures. I would have liked to have seen an option to put hauberk or chain shirt on some of these figures. Finally, there are no bows. Norse typically used bows in combat, often from the rear ranks of a shield wall. It would have been nice to see an option for at least a few bows, though I can understand why the designer didn't as some of the poses would be unsuitable for carrying a bow.
Over all: I like this set and hope Okum Arts Games continues with this line bringing out Saxons and, dare I say, Normans! Well done.

Can't say enough good things about this game. The poitns system works. The game is easy to play. It is really fun. Most sci-fi gamers will love it.
LIKED: Ease of play. The use of 1 type of die. (D6). The careful attention payed to game balance.
DISLIKED: Hmmm....the hex based map? I would prefer to play with miniatures in a freeform setting but I guess this is really a matter of taste.

It's simple. It's fast. It's fun. Another universal set that holds up the promise of being a universal set of rules. Combat is quick and easy to understand. Dispite the simplicity of the game, there is enough here to keep most gamers interested. MT uses many very simple mechanisms to simulate all forms of combat.
LIKED: Quick and easy to understand.
DISLIKED: Nothing

Interesting rules set. Decent amount of detail without being overly complicated. There is not a lot of polish to the set but I think it would be fun to play. Definitly worth the money even if you are just a "collector" like me. :)
DISLIKED: The rules could be organized a little better. The combat, although easy to understand, took a few reads to completly figure out. There was a strange distinction between "Armor" and "Defense" which showed what kind of armor was worn.
QUALITY: Very Good
