It's unbelievable that the cost is less than it deserves. I've saw some say the pdf is a scan. If so, the pdf must have been upgraded. It looks perfect. I've just went to thier site and bought the printed book. DP9 has four OGL compatible player handbooks but the rules can be used for any setting outside of thier settings. The rules are the best layout I've ever seen in a game set. Very, very well presented and throughout every chapter there are dozens of examples of the rules being used. The rules themselves are great and we're looking forward to making it one of the top system being used. Version 003.1 I'm a gamer, not a staff member!!

At 258 pages, 252 are the content. A pretty good scan, much better than Heavy Gear 3rd Player's Handbook.

A lot is covered in the PDF: Character & Mechanical Design, Advanced Rules, Open Gaming Rules Conversion, Appendixes, Game-mastering, etc.

Al looks pretty good., wish I had more time to look through section. I like it. All artwork is b&w (a fair bit of it from Heavy Gear - my favourite).

Not bad for £5.05. Well worth a look.

I really haven't played this a whole lot, but the mechanics are good and the story line is nice. Good PDF.

The Silhouette CORE RPG Rules update the old Silhouette rules in small but good ways. No individual change is huge but overall they add up to a large improvement.

The change in the botch system to count as 1 + all mods instead of just counting as zero means that in combat it is no longer an instant death sentence to a character.

Changes in the combat system now means a skilled character can win when facing a less skilled one that has maximised their stat unlike before where High mods were the be all and end all.

The vehicle system has had a few thing neatened and with weapons systems it is now a lot simpler to add different abilities to.

I would recommend getting the FAQ from the dp9 website as it adds a few things which I find very useful and think should be in the book and corrects a few small details.

A good system that deals well with lots of different types of games from grim and gritty historical to cinematic space games.

All and all I like it a lot 9/10

I love having a core rules guide, it makes it possible to play every game they make, with the simple addition of a players guide. Its fun, simple, and easy to use, no hassles, everything you could want out of a book.
