First, the layout was fixed prior to me buying this. I can understand mistakes being made, but the publisher should not have uploaded the product until they were sure they were uploading the right now.
That said, this is a very good addition to our Fudge collection. I liked the discussion of magic and psychic powers, and also the racing game.
My only complaints about this product would be the racing game seemed somewhat like a separate game (this could have been taken out and made a separate game, possibly one of your ?Fudge Treats?). I don?t know that this is necessarily ?bad?, but it just seemed to be out of place to me. The other thing is that the stock settings were fairly sparse, and could have been developed a bit more.
That said, the mecha creation rules were probably the best I have seen, and this book demonstrates a very good application of the Fudge system to the genre of mecha.
It occurs to me that this product could also be used in mecha games using other game systems. The rules here provide a good way to flesh out some of the details of the mecha and the characters that operate them.
LIKED: Uses the Fudge system, provides a very good application of the system to mecha, the mecha creation rules are very good, and the product has some very good application to systems other than Fudge. I also liked the systems for magic and psychic powers, and their application to mecha.
DISLIKED: The stock settings should be fleshed out more or just left out. I think the racing rules could have been taken out and made a different product. I am not going to rate the product down from 5 stars from these two things, since if they were not in the book I would have given it 5 stars for the rest of the book.
