Read What Others Are Saying
Fey Wine ( Within the Ring of Fire )
by James R.
Publisher: RAW Immersive Games
Date Added: 07/27/2014 09:09:06
Fey Wine ( Within the Ring of Fire ) First off, this book is recommended for mature readers. It doesn't pull any punches regarding the societies of the setting, K'vega Thale. If you are playing or planning to play (or GM) Within the Ring of Fire, Fey Wine will help set the tone and provide a solid depth of understanding of the importance of the world's divinities, the attitudes and interactions of the world's people, and just how menacing K'vega Thale is overall. If you are not playing Within the Ring of Fire, Fey Wine is still very much worth reading as a stand-alone novel; the author has paid a lot of attention to giving the novel's setting a sense of versimilitude and telling an engrossing story, one that has not really been told before. Many fantasy novels rehash familiar themes or "borrow" from past writers; - not so much Fey Wine; - it's not a generic fantasy story. Well worth reading, check it out....

Far Away Land RPG: Tales of Awesome WOW!! What can I say about the FAL setting laid out in the pages of this book. Expansive yet open to the hand of the GM. The background history, pantheon, and geography all come together. This setting SCREAMS to be played and I for one will answer the call.

RMFRP Races and Cultures A tad too "un-generic" for my tastes. Great material, but may require some work to incorporate this in a campaign that is not set in Shadow World.

Battle for Oz
by Kristopher S.
Publisher: Pirate Press LLC
Date Added: 07/26/2014 12:53:02
Battle for Oz There are many projects that are published that are sub par or rushed just for the sake of making money. There are Kickstarter projects that fall short of the hopes of the creators and their backers. This product is neither of those. Battle for Oz is an amazing work from Pirate Press. The book is of high quality writing and artwork and if it were just that, it would be enough. But the creators, Dave Hardee, Dan Smith and Jennifer Lange, have woven a tapestry evoking the same wonder and delight to my imagination as when I first read the stories of Oz by Frank Baum. The Battle for Oz blends together the original stories with new writing and game mechanics to create a spectacular piece of fiction, that you and your friends can become a part of. So grab your friends and your dice, grab a sheet a paper and don the identity of a scarecrow, tin-man, beast-man, munchkin, or even a winged monkey and follow your own Yellow Brick Road to adventure...

Wasteland Treasures 1
by Megan R. [Featured Reviewer]

Wasteland Treasures 1 A major part of any post-apocalyptic game is seeing what you can scavenge in your travels, and then working out how to utilise what you've found or at least trade it for something else that you want. This means that the GM has to be ever alert to leaving stuff around for you to find... and here's a collection of random tables to help the GM do just that! The author describes compiling them by reading catalogues and visiting websites for military/survivalist suppliers, looking around campsites and even in his own garage - and indeed as you look around you right now, there's probably quite a lot of stuff that might interest a scavenger. Even if my desk is mostly piled with RPG books and computer equipment, the odd item within eyeshot might be of use (at least until I tidy the multi-tool away!). Anyway, to get you started there are three tables here. Roll randomly, or read through them and select the things you want the party to have. The first one is quite general 'loot found in ru...

The Doom-Cave of the Crystal-Headed Children
by Joshua B.
Publisher: Lamentations of the Flame Princess
Date Added: 07/26/2014 08:27:14
The Doom-Cave of the Crystal-Headed Children "The Doom-Cave of the Crystal-Headed Children" pales in comparison to some of the other adventure module offerings from LOTFP, including last years far superior Free RPG Day offering, "Better Than Any Man." Why? With Doom-Cave, the author (and not for the first time) has produced something that, while creative and a decent read, doesn't strike me as producing a quality tabletop experience. Too many of Mr. Raggi's modules, including this one, seem like they would be better suited as short fiction in a collection of weird tales than as RPG adventures DMs and players are actually expected to use effectively. While playtesting has allegedly occured, I suppose we are left to believe that the test groups enjoy an RPG session that will often consist in large part of the PCs pushing inscrutable buttons and then rolling on random table to see to what degree they are reward or screwed. In fact, after a point, this entire module starts to bog down under the weight of random tables that are eit...
